That this was probably their last show.
"On January 14, 2009, Ryan Adams announced that he was quitting the Cardinals after their final show on March 20, 2009 at the Fox Theater in Atlanta."

Best Recording so Far
OK, I don't want to take anything away from any of the three tapers who have uploaded so far. All three recordings are wonderful.
This one, IMO, is the best so far. It's a matrix recording with a super audience recording mixed into the soundboard. The soundboard recording is a bit more predominant in this mix, which I like. Obviously there is more detail from the mic's than recording the vocals from the PA speakers. Still a lot of great warmth and ambience from the audience recording.
The other matrix recording here (30% soundboard, 70% audience) is just a little too much audience, IMO. It's a tad on a the warm side on my (high-end) headphone rig.
Thanks to all the tapers. Terrific (and I suppose, historic) show.
EDIT several weeks later: I've now heard the straight soundboard (stage mix plus three stage mics for ambience set up and mixed by the soundboard guys). It kills all of the soundboard/audience mixes, especially on the mellower stuff. Hopefully, it will posted here soon. It just hit RAA as a torrent.

Is there a possibility of seeding just the soundboard?
Thanks for taping!

the best so far...
Great show, glad to be able to choose from the 3 available so far, initially ripped the torrent of the first available thread. I was able to travel to ATL and had seats in the back, literally the last row, and the sound was amazing, sounds so good...

What are you smoking? Decent recording but nothing special. I was there and the show was strong but VERY loud and I think the sound quality suffered greatly because of it. In contrast to the fine Cardinals matrix recordings we've gotten used to this is NOT a satisfying capture of such a historic show. None of the 3 versions currently posted here are. It's only 5 days after the show so I know it's too soon to be real picky, but the 5 star ratings were bothering me. Still hoping one will turn up.

Anyone who complains about the sound quality needs to be taken out back and forced to listen to a 6th generation stealth mic audience from the loud drunken crowd of a '91 Allman Brothers show. This sounds stellar!! And they BRING IT!!! They will be back. It's like the Dead "retiring" in 1974. You can't quit when you're firing on all cylinders like this.

Waiting for a better ...
I'm rating the recording not the show. IMO this matrix is not very well balanced and the audience is too loud.I'm pretty sure that a better mixed and sounding recording will surface. Nevertheless a fine effort, thanks.

Where Else but the Fox Theater with the People You Love .... ;-D
I agree that this is the best of the recordings of this particular show posted so far. Crystal clear vocals.
We saw the show at Verizon Amphitheater in Alpharetta last fall and this show at the Fox is a much better performance. Ryan was really "on" for this show and the Cardinals are rockin'.
I hadnt been to see a concert at The Fox since 1976 (Little Feat), so this was an extraordinary treat seeing Ryan & the Cardinals in top form at this show!!
There's no question that Ryan Adams is one of the great songwriters of his day. The man is a genius at turning killer lyrics, and composing/playing amazing music.
Wonderful performance of "I See Monsters", with signature interlaced guitarwork in the last half of the song that remind me of his days with Whiskeytown.
The only way this show could have been better is to have Caitlin Cary playing fiddle and contributing to the already superb backing vocals.... or maybe Alejandro Escoveda playing guitar and contributing to backing vocals as well.
Very thoughtful song selection.. clearly he wanted this to be a memorable show at the Fox.
Thanks to my brother-in-law, Steve, for getting the tickets.
Truly a great evening!

If This Is It.
If This is It. I'd like to say Thank you to Ryan and The Cards, for letting me rest my head for a little while.
